Kyle Thurman (born 1986, West Chester, Pennsylvania) lives and works in Brooklyn, New York. Recent solo exhibitions include “Error erred” at David Lewis, New York (2020), “Heard Through Bone” at CENTRAL FINE, Miami Beach (2020), and “Tremoring Cup” at Sophie Tappeiner, Vienna (2018). Thurman was included in the 2019 Whitney Biennial at the Whitney Museum of American Art, New York. He graduated from Columbia University in 2009 with degrees in both Film Studies and Visual Arts. From 2011 to 2012, Thurman studied as a guest student with both Peter Doig and Christopher Williams at the Kunstakademie Dusseldorf. In 2016, he completed his MFA in painting at the Milton Avery Graduate School of Arts at Bard College. His work is included in the permanent collection of the Whitney Museum of American Art.
